[et_pb_section admin_label="section"][et_pb_row admin_label="row"][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text admin_label="Text"] Here's one we don't often think of for a wish list but you know what you guys, I think it's a good one. Forgiveness. To forgive is a big deal. Whether you have the ability to forgive says a lot about your character. It takes a lot to forgive and it's not always easy. I'm not talking about the kind of forgiveness you force your kids to do to one another after they've bickered, I'm talking about the kind that takes guts, accepting someone else's apology and meaning it in your core can be an exceptional thing.

Forgiveness of self...not always easy, but necessary. Yes, I know we can all be hard on ourselves for many different reasons. But don't harbor internal guilt or over analyze because you screamed at your kids for misbehaving, or because you had a crappy day at work and should have handled a situation differently, or because you had an argument with your spouse. These things happen, they're all part of life and having the ability to be true to yourself and forgive yourself is really important. You feel better when your conscience is clear, right? I know I do...

Forgiveness of others...this is always a choice and can take time. Being hurt by someone you care about can be a deal breaker as I'm sure we all know. Being able to accept other people's faults (or mistakes) is difficult and often hard to forget. As the saying goes "let it go" is easier said than done in some cases. But here's the thing...we ALL make mistakes. We all say things we don't mean and while it doesn't necessarily reflect our true character, it happens. It happens at different times in our lives under all kinds of circumstances. This goes back to treat others how you want to be treated and dig deep to find the good in one another mantra I follow. Forgiveness is powerful, it's cathartic and it can lighten your load, ya know?

I don't think this world is getting any easier to navigate and while we all try to remain true to ourselves and our loved ones, we have to be able to dissect situations and take the good from them whatever that may be...the first step is forgiveness.

My wish today is for more tolerance, patience and forgiveness in our world and within ourselves.
