Help For A Mama

[et_pb_section admin_label="section"][et_pb_row admin_label="row"][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text admin_label="Text"] You guys, aren't you tired of reading my posts about gun violence? Because I sure am sick of writing them...

I was on Facebook yesterday and I saw a post in one of the groups I belong to, 'The Lil' Mamas', about the most recent shooting in San Bernardino on Wednesday. This particular group is open to participants nationwide and that's how I learned that one of "the mamas", Renee Wetzel, lost her husband during that violent attack. I can rant about statistics, about how our Congress is FAILING at introducing gun laws, about mental illness...but that's not what I want to write about.

One thing I have learned about The Lil' Mamas is that we take care of our own. We talk about personal, raw, emotional stuff in a closed setting. It's honest, it's funny and sometimes it's heart breaking. There is talk of love and loss, there is talk of sickness, not just the flu kind, and health, there's talk of success and failure. There is always support. Always. This group is always the first to rally for charity for one of our own. I don't know Renee personally, but today she needs our help. She is the mother of six beautiful children and she is enduring the unthinkable. Her husband, Michael was shot and killed at a place where he felt safe, his workplace. Renee now has to manage without her partner in life while trying to raise their children. She will have to help them through their grief while managing her own. It's during times like these when you least expect it where generous support is needed. Renee will be fighting for the rest of her life, for her kids, and for herself in her husband's honor. Let's help her do just that.

The Lil' Mamas have set up a you caring site for donations: and today as you're sending your kids to school and wishing your loved ones a good day, be grateful and give back. Today, Pay It Forward Friday has been moved up a day and is dedicated to Renee and the Lil' Mamas, I'm proud to be part of this group! #mamafamilyforever
